Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots began as a musical comedy group featuring Bobby Bones, Producer Eddie, and other friends. The concept originated with Bobby Bones in high school and was later revived as a fake opener for his solo comedy act. A turning point occurred in 2014 when a charity event for a small audience led to a sold-out show in Wichita, KS, attracting over 3,000 attendees. This success demonstrated the group’s potential to use humor and music for community benefit, leading them to actively pursue more charity performances.
Since their re-formation in 2014, The Raging Idiots have performed approximately 40 shows, raising over $2 million for various charities. Their efforts extended into professional recording when they signed with Black River Entertainment in May 2015. This partnership resulted in the release of a six-track digital EP in November 2015, titled “The Raging Idiots Presents: The Raging Kidiots,” aimed at younger audiences. In 2016, they released their debut single “If I Was Your Boyfriend” from an upcoming full-length musical comedy album, with its video exclusively premiered on CMT and CMT.com.
Bobby Bones, born Bobby Estell on April 2, 1980, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, developed an interest in radio at age five. He started his radio career at 17 at Henderson State University’s campus station, KSWH-FM “The Pulse,” and graduated with a B.A. in Radio/Television in 2002. His professional radio journey began at KLAZ in Hot Springs, and he later hosted “The Bobby Bones Show” on KHFI-FM in Austin, Texas. In 2012, his show moved to Nashville with a country music format and became nationally syndicated through Premiere Networks in February 2013, reaching millions of listeners across the U.S., Canada, and the UK.
