Fabio Asher, born Fabio Fukrer Towoliu on October 2nd, 1993, in Kotamobagu, North Sulawesi, began his musical journey in junior high, winning various local singing competitions. He later became known professionally as Fabio Asher. Before his mainstream success, he spent several years honing his craft as a professional wedding singer starting in 2019 and actively posted song covers on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. His early career also included multiple unsuccessful auditions for major Indonesian talent shows such as Indonesian Idol, The Voice Indonesia, and Rising Star Indonesia, experiences that temporarily led him to pursue entrepreneurial ventures in barbershops and culinary businesses.
His persistence in music eventually led him to participate in Starvoices Indonesia Season 7 in 2021, where he reached the top 9, and later in X Factor Indonesia Season 3, where he was a top 30 finalist. The turning point in Fabio Asher’s career came in early 2022 with the release of his debut single, “Bertahan Terluka.” This song quickly gained widespread popularity, topping global and Indonesian Spotify Viral 50 charts, reaching number one on Apple Music Indonesia, and securing the second spot on Joox Top 100. It also became a phenomenon on TikTok, being used over 1.4 million times as a sound for videos, demonstrating his significant breakthrough into the Indonesian music scene.
Building on this success, Fabio Asher released his debut EP, “ASHER,” on February 2, 2023, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of “Bertahan Terluka.” The EP featured seven tracks, including three new songs: “Setia Menunggumu,” “Tanpa Rasa Bersalah,” and “Pelangi (Pelan Pelan Menghilang).” “Tanpa Rasa Bersalah” notably reached the top 5 on Billboard Indonesia Songs. In 2024, he released his first studio album, “Everlast,” further cementing his position as a prominent pop and ballad singer in Indonesia.
