Kim Nam Joo

Kim Nam Joo was born on April 15, 1995, in South Korea. Prior to her official debut in the music industry, she gained early experience in commercials, appearing in an LG Electronics commercial in 2003 at the age of six, and a television commercial in 2007. Her career in entertainment began professionally when she joined Cube Entertainment through the 2010 Cube Party auditions. She subsequently transferred to A Cube Entertainment, which is now known as IST Entertainment, and was introduced as one of the final members of the girl group Apink.

Kim Nam Joo debuted with Apink on April 21, 2011, performing tracks from their debut EP, “Seven Springs of Apink,” on Mnet’s M! Countdown. Beyond her group activities, she has also been a part of Apink’s sub-unit, PINK BnN, alongside Yoon Bo-mi. Her solo career commenced on September 7, 2020, with the release of her first single album, “Bird.” She continued her solo musical endeavors by releasing her second single album, “Bad,” on March 19, 2024, under Choi Creative Lab, following her departure from IST Entertainment on April 28, 2023, while maintaining her involvement with Apink.

Her acting career began with the web series “Investigator Alice,” where she played a lead role as detective Chun Yeon-joo from 2015 to 2016. She reprised a similar role as detective Oh Jin-kyung in “Bad Boy Detectives” between 2017 and 2018. Kim Nam Joo has also ventured into musical theater, taking on the lead role of Juliet Capulet in Sungkyunkwan University’s production of “Romeo and Juliet” in 2017 and performing in “Midnight Sun” in 2022. She has held co-hosting and hosting roles on television shows such as “Shikshin Road 2” in 2016 and “Because It’s My First New House” in 2022. Throughout her career, she has collaborated on several musical projects and released various soundtrack appearances.
