Kim Nam Joo is a South Korean singer and actress, known for her contributions to the K-pop group Apink and a growing career in television and musical theater. After joining Cube Entertainment through the 2010 Cube Party auditions, Kim Nam Joo swiftly transferred to A Cube Entertainment, now known as IST Entertainment, where she was introduced as one of the final members of the acclaimed K-pop girl group Apink. She made her official debut with Apink on April 21, 2011, performing tracks from their debut EP, ‘Seven Springs of Apink,’ on Mnet’s M! Countdown.
Expanding her musical collaborations, Kim Nam Joo released the single ‘A Year Ago’ with fellow Apink member Eunji and Jang Hyun-seung in 2013, showcasing her versatile vocal talent. Continuing her dynamic career, Kim Nam Joo became part of Apink’s successful sub-unit, PINK BnN, alongside Yoon Bo-mi. In 2015, she was accepted into Sungkyunkwan University’s prestigious Department of Performance Arts, concurrently pursuing her passion for acting with a lead role as detective Chun Yeon-joo in the Naver TV web series ‘Investigator Alice,’ which ran from 2015 to 2016. That same year, she released the duet ‘Photograph’ with BtoB’s Yook Sung-jae and garnered attention for her appearance as ‘Good Daughter Shim Cheong’ on MBC’s popular variety show ‘King of Mask Singer.’ Kim Nam Joo further diversified her television presence in 2016 by co-hosting ‘Shikshin Road 2’ with Yoon Bo-mi.
Demonstrating her continued artistry, she released her second solo single album, ‘Bad,’ on March 19, 2024, to critical acclaim. Her acting career remains active with a role in the 2024 series ‘Wonderful World,’ further solidifying her multifaceted presence across music, television, and theater.
