Lyn, born Lee Se-jin on November 9, 1981, is a celebrated South Korean singer known for her powerful ballads and memorable TV soundtrack contributions. She began her music career in 2000, but it was her re-debut in 2002 under the stage name Lyn that marked her rise to fame. Her album *Have You Ever Had Heart Broken?* featured the hit single “Have You Ever Been Hurt By Love?”, which quickly became a favorite and established her as a prominent figure in K-pop.
Lyn’s success continued with her 2004 album, *Can U See The Bright*, which included the popular track “We Were in Love.” This album’s commercial success further solidified her reputation. In 2007, she released *The Pride of the Morning*, which became the second best-selling album of March that year, according to the Music Industry Association of Korea.
In 2012, Lyn gained widespread recognition with “Back in Time,” a song from the soundtrack of the period drama *Moon Embracing the Sun*. The track topped the Gaon Digital Chart, selling over three million copies, and was a major success throughout the first half of 2012. Her song “My Destiny” from the 2013 drama *My Love From the Star* won her the Best Original Soundtrack award at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards, making her the first artist to win in this category.
Lyn continued to make significant contributions to drama soundtracks with tracks like “Just One Day” for *Mask*, “Such Person” with 4MEN’s Shin Young Jae for *Oh My Venus*, and “With You” for *Descendants of the Sun*. In 2018, she collaborated with Hanhae on “LOVE” for the drama *Are You Human?*.
In October 2015, Lyn transitioned from her label MUSIC&NEW to start her own label, COMPANY919. She married Lee Soo of MC the Max on September 19, 2014. Lyn has been recognized with numerous awards throughout her career, including the 2014 High1 Seoul Awards OST Category Award and the 2004 KBS Song Festival’s Singer of the Year Award, reflecting her enduring impact and success in the K-pop industry.
