After co-founding The Cutting Edge Band in 1992, which later became the seminal contemporary Christian music group Delirious?, Martin Smith went on to establish a significant career as a globally recognized artist, worship leader, and songwriter. Initially working as a sound engineer at ICC studios in Eastbourne, Smith’s professional music journey took a pivotal turn in 1995 following a near-fatal car accident, inspiring him to pursue music full-time and leading to the evocative song ‘August 30.’ Delirious? achieved full-time status in 1996, quickly gaining international recognition with influential songs such as ‘I Could Sing of Your Love Forever,’ ‘History Maker,’ and ‘Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble?’.

During his extensive tenure with Delirious?, Smith contributed to a prolific discography, including landmark albums like King of Fools (1997), Mezzamorphis (1999), and Kingdom of Comfort (2008). The band expanded its global footprint through extensive tours, performing at prestigious venues and events worldwide, including an appearance on Glastonbury’s main Pyramid Stage and opening for renowned acts such as Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams.
