Olivia Longott is an American R&B singer best known for her performances with the hip hop group G-Unit and as a cast member on VH1’s reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York. Born on February 15, 1981, in Brooklyn, New York, Olivia Theresa Longott studied music at Bayside High School in Queens and Five Towns College in Dix Hills, New York. She began her performing career as a teenager and in 2000, became the first artist signed to Clive Davis’ J Records. Her self-titled debut album “Olivia” was released in 2001 and featured the singles “Bizounce,” which peaked at #15 on the charts, and “Are U Capable.” The album debuted at No. 55 on the Billboard 200.
From 2004 to 2007, Olivia was signed to G-Unit, where she gained fame for her feature on 50 Cent’s hit song “Candy Shop.” She also released singles like “So Sexy” and “Twist It” (featuring Lloyd Banks) under the label. After parting ways with G-Unit in 2007, her second studio album “Behind Closed Doors” was shelved but leaked on mixtape websites in 2008. In 2009, she featured on Congolese singer Fally Ipupa’s song “Chaise Électrique,” which topped the charts in Congo and Africa.
Olivia released her music video for “December” in April 2011, with the song peaking at No. 76 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. She released the single “Walk Away” later that year and joined the cast of Love & Hip Hop, chronicling her struggles as an independent artist. In 2012, she declined a deal from EMI and signed with Jerry Wonda’s Wonda Music, releasing promotional songs “Soldier Girl” (featuring Mavado) and “Sun Don’t Shine” (featuring Sean Kingston). Her song “Where Do I Go from Here?” reached No. 10 on the iTunes R&B/Soul charts in 2013.
After a seven-year hiatus, Olivia returned to Love & Hip Hop: New York for its tenth anniversary season. Active since 2000, Olivia continues to contribute to the R&B, soul, and hip hop genres.
