Peter Andre, born Peter James Andrea on February 27, 1973, in Harrow, London, England, developed an early interest in performance. His family relocated to Australia when he was six, settling on the Gold Coast where he attended Benowa State High School. At 16, Andre secured a recording contract after appearing on the Australian talent show “New Faces.” This early exposure led to his debut single “Drive Me Crazy” in 1992, which achieved significant success in Africa, followed by “Gimme Little Sign,” peaking at No. 3 in Australia and earning him an ARIA Award in 1993 for highest-selling Australian single of the year.
Andre’s music career saw a resurgence following his appearance on “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” in 2004, where his 1995 hit “Mysterious Girl” re-released and reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart, marking a significant turning point. His sixth studio album, “Revelation,” released in 2009, peaked at No. 3 in the UK charts. Beyond music, Andre has established a notable presence in television. He co-starred in the “Katie & Peter” reality franchise on ITV2 from 2004 to 2009, documenting his life with then-wife Katie Price. He continued with individual reality series such as “Peter Andre: The Next Chapter” (2009–2011) and “Peter Andre: My Life” (2011–2013). From 2013 to 2014, and again in 2018, he presented “Peter Andre’s 60 Minute Makeover” and was a contestant on “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2015, finishing seventh.
His acting work includes voice roles as Ace the race car in “Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures!” (2018) and its subsequent season in 2020. Andre has also appeared in films such as “David Brent: Life on the Road” (2016) and “Keith Lemon: The Film” (2012), with upcoming roles in “Jafaican” (2025) and “Last Respects.” In 2023, he joined GB News as a guest presenter, co-hosting the weekend show. Throughout his career, Andre has balanced his artistic endeavors with various brand partnerships and media engagements, maintaining his status as a recognizable media personality in both the UK and Australia.
