A teacher’s video of his singing led to his recruitment by Pledis Entertainment in June 2012. He trained for three years and two months, frequently appearing in the reality series “Seventeen TV,” which documented the trainees’ preparation for debut. At the age of 15, Seungkwan moved to Seoul to pursue his training, eventually graduating from Seoul Broadcasting High School in 2016.
In May 2015, Seungkwan officially debuted as the main vocalist and a prominent face of SEVENTEEN with their first mini-album, “17 Carat.” He is an integral part of the group’s VOCAL TEAM, alongside Woozi, Joshua, DK, and Jeonghan, contributing to numerous unit songs and mixtapes. His career diversified further in March 2018 with the debut of the sub-unit BSS (BooSeokSoon), releasing their first single album, “Just Do It.” Seungkwan also ventured into solo releases, with his single “Dandelion” debuting in February 2024.
