Swing Republic

Formed in 2005 as a pioneering force in the burgeoning electro swing genre, the Danish duo Swing Republic, led by producer Per Ebdrup and fronted by vocalist Karina Kappel, released their debut album ‘Electro Swing Republic’ in 2011 through Freshly Squeezed Music. The project, initially a side-venture for Ebdrup—who had previously collaborated with artists such as Ida Corr, Aura Dione, and Gauzz—quickly distinguished itself by blending vintage jazz sounds with modern electronic music. Specializing in Electro-Blues and Vintage Remix genres, Swing Republic combines historical musical elements with contemporary electronic production techniques to create a unique and positive auditory experience. Following their initial success, Swing Republic continued to shape the electro swing landscape with a consistent output of work.

Their commitment to evolving the electro swing sound while maintaining their signature blend of genres has ensured their consistent relevance and continued engagement with their dedicated audience. Swing Republic remains actively engaged in pushing the boundaries of their genre, with recent releases underscoring their continued creative output and sonic evolution. In 2022, they released the single ‘Killer’, followed by ‘Honey Has Spice’ in 2024, and most recently ‘Reclaim Your Power’ in 2024. These singles, all released through Freshly Squeezed Music, highlight their ongoing commitment to innovation and their continued presence as a driving force in the electro-blues and vintage remix scene.
