Swing Republic

Swing Republic is a Danish electro swing duo founded in 2005. The project was initially a side-project of producer and songwriter Per Ebdrup. Ebdrup had previously worked with artists such as Ida Corr, Aura Dione, and Gauzz. The duo is fronted by vocalist Karina Kappel and specialize in Electro-Blues and Vintage Remix genres. Their work combines historical musical elements with contemporary electronic production techniques.

Over their career, Swing Republic has released a significant body of work, including multiple albums and numerous singles and EPs. All of their releases have been through the record label Freshly Squeezed Music. Their discography includes albums such as ‘Electro Swing Republic’ (2011), ‘Midnight Calling’ (2012) featuring Karina Kappel, and ‘Mo’ Electro Swing Republic – Let’s Misbehave’ (2015). They have also appeared at the club night ‘White Mink’. Recent releases include singles like ‘Killer’ (2022) and ‘Honey Has Spice’ (2024), demonstrating continued activity and evolution in their sound.

Swing Republic is recognized as one of the original pioneers of the Electro Swing sound. Their approach involves merging past musical styles with future electronic technology, aiming to create a positive and distinctive auditory experience. Their consistent release schedule and focus on electro swing, electro-blues, and vintage remixes have established their presence within the genre.
