The Kooks

The Kooks are an acclaimed English pop-rock band formed in 2004 in Brighton, consisting of Luke Pritchard (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Hugh Harris (lead guitar, synthesizer, bass), and Alexis Nunez (drums). The band quickly gained recognition after signing with Virgin Records just three months after their formation. Their debut album, *Inside In/Inside Out* (2006), achieved quadruple platinum status in the UK and featured hit singles such as “Naïve” and “She Moves in Her Own Way,” propelling them into the mainstream spotlight.

Following their successful debut, the Kooks released *Konk* in 2008, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and produced the chart-topping single “Always Where I Need to Be.” The album showcased their evolution as artists, blending pop and rock influences while maintaining their distinct sound. Despite lineup changes, including the departure of bassist Max Rafferty, the band continued to innovate with their third album, *Junk of the Heart* (2011), and the critically mixed *Listen* (2014), which incorporated elements of hip-hop and funk.

In 2018, the Kooks released *Let’s Go Sunshine*, further solidifying their place in the music industry. Their most recent album, *10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark* (2022), continues to demonstrate their versatility and commitment to evolving their sound.
