The Kooks achieved significant critical and commercial success with their debut album, ‘Inside In/Inside Out,’ released in 2006. This seminal album was certified five-times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), and two-times platinum by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA). It produced successful singles such as ‘Naïve’ and ‘She Moves in Her Own Way,’ both charting in the top ten. Formed in 2004, the band rapidly secured a deal with Virgin Records in 2005, just four months after their formation.
The current lineup, featuring Luke Pritchard on vocals and guitar, Hugh Harris on bass, guitar, and synthesiser, and Alexis Nuñez on drums and percussion, was active during this period. In 2017, they released ‘The Best of… So Far,’ a compilation that celebrated their enduring chart success. The Kooks maintained their artistic momentum with the release of ‘Let’s Go Sunshine’ in 2018, an album that resonated strongly with critics and fans.
The band has also announced their highly anticipated new album, ‘Never/Know,’ slated for release in 2025. With a discography spanning over a decade marked by platinum certifications and continued innovation, The Kooks remain a formidable and marketable force in the international music scene.
