Tornillo

Osiel Vázquez, professionally known as Tornillo, was born and raised in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. From an early age, he developed an interest in music, influenced by Mexican rap and cumbia. At 21 years old, Tornillo has established a unique artistic style, blending both rap and cumbia into a hybrid genre he terms cumbia-rap. His career gained momentum with tracks such as “Morena,” “Iluminatik,” and “Por Unos Centavos,” the latter featuring artist Doom Deca.

Tornillo’s professional trajectory advanced significantly in 2021 when Santa Fe Klan formally incorporated him into the 473 Music collective. This association contributed to an expansion of his audience and the release of numerous hit singles and music videos. Over a period of just over three years, Tornillo released two albums, “Cactus” in 2022 and “Estilo Fino” in 2024, in addition to contributing to nearly 40 singles as either a primary or featured artist. His social media presence includes over 4.5 million followers on TikTok (tornillooficial444) and an active Instagram account (tornillovazquez_).

The artist’s stage name, “Tornillo,” originates from a childhood nickname given by his father, reflecting his early experiences assisting with mechanical work. This nickname became integral to his public identity. Tornillo has also engaged in collaborations with various artists, including Danny Calvario, Santa Fe Klan, L-Gante, Peso Pluma, and The Black Keys. These collaborations and his evolving musical style contribute to his standing within the cumbia-rap genre.
