Dean Stobbart is a member of British YouTuber team 442oons, famous for their hugely popular football animations. Launched by Stobart and his personal animations in 2013, the 442oons channel – famous for hilarious football-themed sketchers, skits and songs – has now amassed over 3.36 million subscribers and has become one of YouTube’s most popular sports channels. Stobbart has worked with the likes of Sky Sports and TalkSport on animations and his videos have featured in the Spanish Marca and on Metro. He has also collaborated with FREEbetts, the Bundesliga YouTube channel , The Football Republic and Onefootball.
Hailing from Stockton-on-Tees in County Durham, England, Stobbart started off his career when he was 16 years old, acting in television shows and as a part time voice actor. After a stint in London starring in several West End musicals he relocated to Liverpool where he became a deputy head teacher at a Wirral secondary school. As a fan of animated sitcoms like Beavis and Butthead and South Park, Stobbart began to create his own animations for lessons.
In the summer of 2013, a bored Stobbart identified a gap in the market for football cartoons, and created the 442oons YouTube channel. He uploaded his first video – a parody of The Silence of The Lambs prison scene featuring Arsey Whinger and Chewy Suarez which has since been viewed over 2.6 million times – and the channel took off.
Since the success of 442oons, Stobbart has created Celebri2oons, a new channel parodying the celebrities, and has launched the 442oons Football Runner App game feature fusions of football players including Raheem Aguero, Cristiano Dybala and Lionel Suarez. In 2020 he launched 442oons Football Shooter, his second mobile game, and a new YouTube hugely successful YouTube series “The Frontmen”.
