Aaron Russell

His foundational journey included significant representation on the Boys’ Youth Team in 2010 and 2011, and the Men’s Junior National Team in 2013, before making his debut with the senior U.S. national team in 2014, showcasing his talent on the international stage. In 2015, Russell transitioned to professional club volleyball, beginning his overseas career with Sir Safety Perugia in Italy. Russell’s career trajectory continued upwards with his participation in the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games, where he earned a bronze medal with the U.S.

Olympic team. His exceptional performance at the Games led to him being named one of the Best Outside Spikers of the tournament. Following three impactful years with Perugia, Russell signed with Diatec Trentino in June 2018. That same year proved highly successful as he secured another bronze medal at the FIVB World Championship.

He further distinguished himself by being named the Most Valuable Player at the 2018 Club World Championship, contributing significantly to Diatec Trentino’s victory. His professional journey continued with impactful tenures across various international clubs. Russell played for Gas Sales Piacenza from 2020 to 2022, before moving to JT Thunders, where he competed from 2022 to 2024. Throughout these roles, he maintained his elite performance level, consistently proving his value on the court and solidifying his reputation as a top-tier player.

Most recently, Russell joined Warta Zawiercie in 2024, embarking on his latest professional chapter. His enduring commitment to excellence was once again highlighted at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where he earned his second Olympic bronze medal, solidifying his status as a two-time Olympian and two-time Olympic medalist for the United States. He continues to be a formidable presence in top-tier competitive volleyball, consistently representing the United States at the highest levels of the sport.
