Adrian Martin, born on October 9, 1991, in Cavan, Ireland, developed an early interest in the culinary arts, influenced by his father’s involvement in the food industry. He began his professional culinary training at the age of 14, working at Neven Maguire’s Mac Nean House and Bon Appetit in Malahide. His formal education included studies in culinary arts at the School of Tourism in Killybegs, advanced training at South West College in Enniskillen, and specialization in baking and pastry arts management at Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street. This foundational experience prepared him for a career that would later include international yacht cheffing and television appearances.
Martin continued to expand his culinary expertise by working as a private chef on multiple yachts, gaining experience in diverse culinary environments. His commitment to his craft and calm demeanor were noted during his appearance on “Below Deck” season 6 as the chef. In 2020, he established Wildflower Restaurant in Camden, London, operating from a shipping container. Despite challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, he reopened and later transitioned the Wildflower concept to Dublin’s south inner city in February 2022, investing over 120,000 euro into the establishment with two dining rooms and a bar. In 2024, he launched a one-table Wildflower Restaurant “3.0” pop-up in Dublin’s Blackrock Market, launched in December of that year.
Beyond his restaurant work, Adrian Martin has an active media career. He is a resident chef on the “Six o’ Clock” show on TV3/Virgin Media 1. He has also hosted “Chef Adrian Eats Ireland” (Amazon Prime, 2021) and “Wild Cooks” (BBC, 2020), following two earlier shows on the RTE Player platform in 2016. As an author, he has published “Fakeaway: Fast Food Made Healthy” in 2017 and “Create Beautiful Food at Home” in 2019. In 2022, Adrian welcomed a daughter, Poppy, with his partner, Grace, and by 2024, he was based in Oregon, continuing his chef career, sharing food and family-related posts while traveling the USA.
