After a bad accident ended that career, he began studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. He got his movie break in the mid-1980s when his audition for Top Gun was so successful that a part was written specifically for him. Following this, Pasdar focused on movies until the late 1990s when he began to explore television roles as well, particularly after his success in the 1996 drama series Profit (a spiritual forefather of The Sopranos, Mad Men, etc.) In 2000, he joined the cast of Mysterious Ways, which has become a cult hit and is still shown internationally today.
The previous 20 years have continued to be good to Pasdar as he has won acclaim and awards for his acting in the major likes of Heroes and The Lying Game. His recent projects include horror thriller film The Georgetown Project.
