Two-time Salsa World Champion Adrianita Avila dazzled audiences across the globe with her electrifying fast footwork on the NBC TV show World of Dance. Along with her dance partner and husband Jefferson Benjumea the Columbian dancing sensation stole the show in Season 4 of the competition series produced by global super star Jennifer Lopez. Although the dancing duo specializes in Columbian Salsa, the talented pair can dance multiple styles like cha-cha-cha, samba and rhumba. The talented couple also earned an Emmy nomination after just two performances on World of Dance for Best Choreography and made history as the first Latin dance pair to reach the World Final. Avila has won major salsa competitions around the globe including World Salsa Open, World Salsa Summit and World Latin Dance Cup.
Avila was born in Cali, Columbia, a city famous as the global “Capital of Salsa”. The gifted dancer first met her partner and future husband as a teenager whilst dancing in the same group over 16 years ago, but it was nearly 6 years later before they danced together professionally as a couple.
Her captivating performances and electrifying chemistry with Benjumea on World of Dance introduced Avila to a global audience and since reaching the final of the television dance contest her popularity has continued to soar. The dance star regularly connects with her fans and followers through her social media accounts which she shares with Benjumea.
