Russian born, latin bred; Anna Trebunskaya dances in traditional Latin style as an American/Russian professional ballroom dancer. She is commonly known by television fans as a star on Dancing with the Stars, where she wows audiences with her ability to turn a novice into an expert along with her sensual latin style. Currently living it up in the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles, Trebunskaya lives and breathes performance.
Born in Chelyabinsk in Russia to a traditional Russian family, Trebunskaya was introduced to dance as quickly as she could walk. Daughter to two professional ballroom dancers, the road to rhythm was quick and easy, and part of the family dynamic. Utilising her parents dance studio, Trebunskaya won her first dance competition at the age of seven. The family decided to move to the US when Trebunskaya was 17, to aid her professional career in the land of opportunity. 1997 saw the young dancer win her first Amateur Youth Championship, stepping up to professional competitor the following year.
Years of success and expertise followed, until Dancing with the Stars placed Trebunskaya in a whole new limelight. Come Season 2, Trebunskaya and Jerry Rice come in an impressive 2nd place. Taking a short break, Trebunskaya returned to the series for its fifth season, partnering with model Albert Reed, unfortunately facing elimination shortly after. The latin professional continued to appear in numerous following seasons, bringing flair and clinical technique to the dancefloor every time.
