Award-winning AnnaLynne McCord has firmly established herself on two fronts: acting and activism. Since rising to prominence playing the devious Eden Lord in the Golden Globe-winning drama Nip/Tuck, she has used her public profile to campaign tirelessly for causes close to her heart. Her work to raise awareness of human trafficking earned her US Congressional Honour. She is also a prominent campaigner against domestic abuse and sexual violence, fronting campaigns such as No More.
McCord was born in Georgia in 1987. After graduating, she initially found fame as a model, taking part in ad campaigns for some of the world’s biggest names, including Estee Lauder and eBay. She also appeared in magazines such as Playboy and Seventeen and graced the covers of innumerable European fashion magazines. She made her first TV appearance in 2002, making guest appearances in shows such as Cold Case and Ugly Betty before landing her first regular role in American Heiress, a 2007 romantic drama that ran for five seasons. The show was cancelled, but McCord quickly found success with Nip/Tuck, joining the cast for the fifth season. The following year, she was cast as Naomi Clark in 90210, a continuation of the classic ‘90s teen soap Beverly Hills 90210. McCord appeared in over 100 episodes of the show and won the Breakthrough Standout Performance Award at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards.
In 2012, McCord entered a new dimension of acting when she starred in Excision, a gruesome horror film about a disturbed high school student. Her acting won her praise from the critics. Her more recent recurring roles have included Claudia in the sitcom Let’s Get Physical.
