Anthony Martial is a French professional footballer who plays for both his national team as well as Premier League side Manchester United.
After being taken under the wing of Patrice Evra during his time as a youth player for Les Ulis, Martial was scouted in 2009 by scouts from the Olympique Lyonnaise academy. They asked him to join and as part of the side he represented France at the 2012 UEFA Under 17 Championship. His first senior appearance came the following year when he signed with AS Monaco, staying with the club for two seasons and putting in a series of impressive performances. By now Martial was known as a talented player, and in 2015 he transferred to Manchester United where he has played ever since. His childhood dream of playing in the Premier League came true, and since then he has played in the UEFA Europa League and the League Cup. Martial’s international career has seen him enjoy similar levels of success, starting when he was in France’s youth side. He made his senior debut in 2015, playing in Euro 2016 and being named in the squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
This prodigious player continues to impress at both a club and an international level, and looks set for many more years of success on the pitch. Most recently Martial has put in strong performances in the delayed 2019- 2020 season, scoring a hat trick against Sheffield United in June.
