Barthélémy Chinenyeze is a talented French professional volleyball player who is a valued member of the French men’s national team. He realized a lifelong ambition of winning a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, and also was a winner of the FIVB Volleyball World League in 2017. He won gold in the 2022 FIVB Nations League, and silver in the 2018 FIVB Nations League. In 2021, he was granted the highest French order of merit for his contributions to the sport, the Knight of the Legion of Honour. He was named Best Middle Blocker at 2020 Olympic Games.
After a stellar collegiate career playing for Spacer’s de Toulouse from 2016 to 2018, Chinenyeze made a name for himself at the top-flight French professional club Tours VB. At Tours VB, he won both the French Cup and French Championship in 2018/2019. Such was the impression he made in 2018 and 2019, it’s no wonder he was named Best Middle Blocker in the 2018 French Championship, as well as both Most Valuable Player and Best Middle Blocker in the 2019 French Championship.
Still very much early in his career, Chinenyeze has already made quite the impression. He’s honed his skills in various clubs in Poland and Italy, and is set to continue his rise in the volleyball world over the coming years. When not on the court, he revels in connecting with his countless fans on Instagram.
