Cake Man Raven

Cake Man Raven, known professionally as Raven Patrick De’Sean Dennis III, first garnered national acclaim for his intricate ice sculptures, prominently featured at the Grammy Award ceremonies in both 1986 and 1988, as well as at the World Trade Center’s Windows of the World. An early entrepreneur, he sold his first cake at 13 in 1980, and earned top state awards in entrepreneurship competitions in 1984 and 1985 while attending Mount Pleasant High School, from which he graduated in 1985. He continued his academic pursuits at Johnson & Wales University and Brown University, later earning a Master’s degree in Education from Johnson & Wales. His initial professional venture, ‘All Occasion Cakes’ in Harlem, focused on children’s birthday parties.

Demonstrating monumental culinary feats, Cake Man Raven created the world’s tallest wedding cake in 2005. This 15-foot high, 5,000-pound sponge cake was capable of feeding 30,000 people and debuted on Good Morning America. His artistry was further showcased on Food Network’s Throwdown! with Bobby Flay in 2008.

In 2012, he strategically relocated his bakery operations from Fort Greene to his Cypress Hills facility in New York, ensuring the continued delivery of his acclaimed confections. Solidifying his status as an industry leader, Cake Man Raven achieved a Guinness World Record in 2012 for the largest sculptured cake. This record-breaking creation was a 31.5-foot-long red velvet cake, intricately shaped as Kappa Alpha Psi’s coat of arms, serving 15,000 people. Through these numerous record-setting achievements, high-profile collaborations, and consistent media presence, Cake Man Raven continues to be a highly sought-after baker and entrepreneur, celebrated for his innovative approach to confectionery and his ability to execute projects of extraordinary scale.
