With more than 28 million views on her cooking channel The Edgy Veg and more than 439k subscribers, she is also the author of bestselling vegan cookbook The Edgy Veg: 138 Carnivore-Approved Vegan Recipes. As the face of The Edgy Veg brand, Hutchings uses her social media presence to spread awareness of the connection between feminism and veganism and to revolutionise how we think about food and eco-conscious living. Hutchings has also featured regularly in the media appearing on the likes of SiriusXM’s “What She Said! and on CTV Television Network’s The Social.
Canadian Hutchings was born Lahr, Baden-Württemberg. After struggling with skin problems and self-esteem for many years, she decided to channel her insecurities through clean eating, yoga and strenuous workouts. In 2009 she created her own blog site called The Edgy Veggie where she began to post her own recipes before launching her YouTube channel The Edgy Veg in 2012. Always keen to do things a little differently, her vegan makeovers of classic comfort foods such as chicken wings and hamburgers were a huge hit, and her number of followers began to grow exponentially.
Hutchings released her eagerly anticipated debut cookbook in 2017. Her incredible success as a vegan influencer has opened the door to numerous opportunities, and she won the Taste Awards in the Home Chef category in LA. The vegan industry continues to grow at a rapid rate, and Hutchings is undoubtedly one of its leading stars.
