Carmindy Bowyer rose to fame with her appearance in the 2013 What Not to Wear, makeover reality TV series on TLC. In What Not to Wear, Carmindy shared her professional beauty advice with the participants that appeared on the show. However, Carmindy Bowyer’s contributions to media do not end there, she is also the regular beauty expert on Good Morning America. Apart from her media presence, Carmindy Bowyer is also a private consultant for direct makeovers. Carmindy Bowyer’s inspiration to become a make-up artist came from her mother, who is a watercolor painter. Although in the beginning she admits that she turned to art only because she found her peace away from the bullying she was facing from her peers in school due to her overweight figure at the time. Her make-up career began when she was practicing and experimenting make-up on her friends and neighbors, which her mother saw as talent and helped her to specialize as a make-up artist by registering her to John Roberts Powers School of modeling. As a result of her expertise and experience in the make-up world, Carmindy Bowyer has published four books. Among her books, The 5-Minute Face: The Quick & Easy Makeup Guide for Every Woman, was the one that sold more copies and is considered as the most successful.
