American private chef, healthy lifestyle advocate, and author Anthony Danero Thomas turned a life-threatened situation to his advantage, becoming a successful entrepreneur in the process. In 2004, he was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening brain condition called Arteriovenous Malformation. He survived the risky surgery, completely changed his eating habits, and became a health advocate. All these years later, he puts his recovery down to his healthy lifestyle and remains passionate about helping others to heal their minds and bodies by making the right dietary choices. In business, he and his team cater for private events of up to 2000 people, serving up dishes that are as unique as they are delicious. He is the author of several books, many aimed at the parents of young children, including The Little Vegan Chef; Mommy, Daddy, What is This?, and Meal Prep is the New Leftovers.
Thomas launched his catering company, Chef Anthony Events, in 2009, and has never looked back. As well as books and catering for large events, he offers one-on-one chef consultancies, catering for smaller, more intimate settings, and even multi-meal packages. He has been featured in and on a range of news outlets across America, including NBC News, Black Enterprise, VegNews, The Beet, Cuisine Noir, and The Washingtonian. His social media outreach is growing all the time, with over 32,000 fans on Instagram alone. His YouTube tutorials are also notching up thousands of views. He also makes sure he gives back, spending his spare time distributing nutritious meals to those who need them most.
