Love them, doubt them, or downright despise them, there’s no denying that psychics and mediums generate a lot of interest. And one of the most popular in the United States is Chip Coffey. In over 20 years as a full-time psychic, he has hosted three seasons of A&E’s Psychic Kids, appeared on many episodes of Paranormal State, and been a staple of the Travel Channel show Kindred Spirits. He has over 174,000 followers on Instagram.
Coffey was born in Elmira, New York, in 1954. He trained as an actor and appeared in over 150 theatrical productions at local, regional, and national level. He also appeared in many television commercials. He also worked as Artistic Director for a great number of theatre companies from the late 1970s onwards.
A talented psychic since childhood, Coffey had been giving part-time readings for years, but it wasn’t until he lost his job in late 2001 that he began to take it seriously as a career. He made his TV debut as a psychic in an episode of the reality documentary series Airport, but in 2008, he got a job hosting Psychic Kids, which helped children with psychic abilities to harness their abilities and find their place in the world. Since then, rarely a year has gone by without Coffey appearing on our screens somewhere, be it as a talk-show guest, a contributor to a long-running show such as Paranormal Stage, or hosting a programme.
