Star of screen and stage David DeSantos is an American Actor famous for his roles in Pretty Little Liars, Torchwood, House, CSI and Days of Our Lives. In addition to his numerous television roles he is world-renowned for his acting career on stage where he has appeared in Othello, Hamlet, Paradise Lost and as MacDuff in the Larry Carpenter-directed production of MacBeth. DeSantos has narrated numerous audio books, and in 2011 he starred in a dramatised version of Hamlet which received a Grammy award nomination for Best Spoken Word/Audiobook. He has also received numerous other accolades for his acting work, including a Denver Henry Award Nomination and Critics Choice for his role in Culture Clash’s American Night at the Denver Centre.
Hailing from the San Fernando Valley, DeSantos first learned about the worlds of television and film through his Grandmother who worked on television’s first western Gunsmoke as a film editor. After attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, he landed roles at the nation’s top regional theatres including a three year stint at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. He also worked with several Tony Award winning directors, including Mary Zimmerman in Arabian Nights.
After building a reputation as a leading stage actor he began to land roles in some of the world’s best-known television shows including House, Ray Donavan and Pretty Little Liars. Constantly in-demand on both stage and screen, DeSantos has also found time to develop the cable TV series “This Is Why I’m Single
