Dean Norris is a widely celebrated actor on both film and television. He is perhaps best known for the role of Hank Schrader on the hit show Breaking Bad. The series received cult status as well as immense critical and popular acclaim. Norris himself was widely praised for his development of this character.
Born in South Bend, Indiana, he performed excellently during his early education, and subsequently attended and graduated from Harvard. After attending drama school at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, he then went on to achieve many successes in front of the camera. He appeared in films such as the iconic Little Miss Sunshine, Evan Almighty and The Book of Henry. On television, he was a series regular on Under the Dome, earning himself a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He also won a Screen Actors Guild award for Best Supporting Cast for Breaking Bad. He has showed versatility and range in his roles, starting his career as a mainstay in the thriller and action genres, and expanding to more nuanced emotional drama.
More recently, he has reprised the role of Hank Schrader for the Breaking bad spin-off Better Call Saul, as well as appearing in the comedy-action film The Hustle in 2019. He continues to live with his family in Temecula, California. A champion of the arts, he opened the Norris Performing Arts Academy with his wife.
