Deanna James

Texas-based tattoo artist, Deanna James, is best known for her professional portraits and florals. She is the owner of the Eden Body Art Studios, which is located in North Dallas. James has studied art for more than twenty years. She began her career as a tattoo artist after having graduated from Booker T. Washington’s Visual Arts Program. James grew quickly in fame and was well recognized in the tattooing community all due to her painterly style and appearance on Ink Master in 2018. James appeared on Season 10 of Spike/Paramount’s reality TV show Ink Master, and immediately earned a spot after facing off Gia Rose. In this show, James made it to the top five. At times when James is not tattooing, she likes to travel around the country to different tattoo conventions and guest spotting at other shops. Her professionalism and talent got James to be named Best Tattoo Artist by Dallas Observer Magazine. James is specialized in black and grey, but she is also specialized in color realism, including portraits, roses and classical paintings. Apart from her passion for ink, James also enjoys her free time playing the guitar and creating portrait paintings. James is very out-spoken about her struggles with mental health, and with her voice she was able to raise funds for Foundation 45, which is a suicide, mental health and addiction awareness organization.
