Deanna James

Deanna James has received significant industry recognition for her distinctive painterly techniques, earning multiple ‘Best of Show’ awards at prestigious events including the Sinners Tattoo Expo (Dallas, 2022), Golden State Tattoo Expo (Pasadena, 2022), and Empire State Tattoo Expo (New York, 2023). Her career is further distinguished by her leadership as the founder of Eden Body Art Studios. James began her tattooing career seven years ago (as of December), rapidly developing a unique style that allows her work to be readily identified. She had initially considered a career in commissioned paintings, but after a pivotal experience, she committed to contributing her singular artistic perspective to the tattoo industry.

Under James’s leadership, Eden Body Art Studios has cultivated a collaborative and supportive atmosphere, providing a unique learning environment through constant guest artists and free seminars for its team. The studio is particularly noted for recognizing and promoting female artists, and it employs a professional full-time videographer and photographer to meticulously document artists’ work, emphasizing quality and client satisfaction. In addition to her multiple ‘Best of Show’ accolades, James continued her award-winning streak by securing ‘3rd Place Best of Show’ at the internationally renowned Gods of Ink Tattoo Convention in Frankfurt in 2024. Currently, James focuses on further evolving her artistic skills and actively passing on her extensive knowledge to emerging artists within the industry, solidifying her role as both a master practitioner and a mentor.
