The wonderful sportswoman Demi Vollering is a professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women’s WorldTeam SD Worx. She has also represented her native Netherlands, taking Bronze in the mixed team relay at the 2021 European Championships.
Born and raised in the Netherlands, Vollering started cycling at a young age, taking part in fat tire racing and competing at the Dutch Championships. She became a member of the Amateur Tourclub Pijnacker and continued to develop her skills on two wheels, and at 16 she joined RWC Ahoy and took part in further competitions. For her first year as a junior competitor she joined Restore Cycling Ladies, going on to come 2nd in the South Holland Championship in 2015-16 and 2016-17, and 1st in the ZHK in 2017-18. She turned professional at the end of 2018 when she joined Parkhotel Valkenburg.
Vollering continued to improve, winning a number of stage races during 2019, including the Giro dell’Emilia Internazionale Donne Elite. She competed regularly, and following the Covid-19 pandemic, joined Team SD Worx. Since then she has won The Women’s Tour, the Liège-Bastogne-Liège Femmes, and La Course by Le Tour de France in 2021, and the Itzulia Women, and the Brabantse Pijl in 2022.
