Denise Crosby

Denise Crosby achieved widespread recognition in 1987 with her breakout role as Lieutenant Tasha Yar in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Initially cast to play Counselor Deanna Troi, Crosby’s role was switched before filming began, making her character one of the original main cast members of the acclaimed series. Prior to this, Crosby began her screen career with a role in the soap opera Days of Our Lives in 1980, following a photo spread in Playboy magazine in 1979. Her early film appearances included roles in 48 Hrs.

(1982), Trail of the Pink Panther (1982), and Curse of the Pink Panther (1983). She continued to build her resume throughout the mid-1980s with diverse roles in films and made-for-TV movies, including portraying Carole Lombard in Malice in Wonderland (1985) and appearing in Desert Hearts (1985). Following her departure from Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1988, Crosby returned as a guest star in the early 1990s, notably reprising her role as Tasha Yar in the critically acclaimed episode ‘Yesterday’s Enterprise’ (1990). She later expanded her Star Trek universe presence by portraying Yar’s half-Romulan daughter, Commander Sela, in key episodes such as ‘Redemption’ and ‘Unification.’ Beyond the Star Trek franchise, Crosby maintained a consistent film career, starring in Stephen King’s Pet Sematary (1989) and Dolly Dearest (1991).

Crosby also contributed her voice talent to video games such as Star Trek: Armada (2000) and Star Trek Online (2013), and portrayed Faye Richardson in Suits (2019). Continuing her active presence in the industry, Denise Crosby recently appeared in a recurring role as Carolyn Webber on the daytime drama General Hospital from 2022 to 2023. She remains engaged with her dedicated fanbase, frequently participating in fan conventions and continuing to seek out compelling roles in film and television.
