Super Bowl winner Dennis Allen is the head coach of the National Football League’s New Orleans Saints. From 2012 to 2014, he was the Oakland Raiders’ head coach. Additionally, Allen has coached in the past for the University of Tulsa, the Denver Broncos, the New Orleans Saints, the Atlanta Falcons, and his alma mater, Texas A&M University. Allen spent the previous seven seasons as the Saints’ defensive coordinator before being elevated to head coach in 2022.
Allen was a safety for R. C. Slocum’s “Wrecking Crew” defence at Texas A&M University. Allen participated in a defence that was among the top five in the country during the 1994 and 1995 seasons, starting the final 21 games of his collegiate career. In 1995, Allen graduated with a B.B.A. in management from Texas A&M School of Business. He became an undrafted free agent in 1996 and signed with the Buffalo Bills, but he was released during training camp. Allen began his coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at Texas A&M.
On January 20, 2015, the New Orleans Saints hired Allen as a senior defensive assistant. Allen was elevated to defensive coordinator on November 16, 2015, the day Rob Ryan was fired. On February 8, 2022, Allen received a promotion to head coach. Allen’s father, Grady Allen, excelled as a linebacker for the Aggies and the Falcons in the NFL. Allen is married to his wife Allison and they have two children, Garrison and Layla.
