The great sportsman Dustin “DJ” Johnson is a professional golfer, who has won two Major championships: the 2016 US Open, and the 2020 Masters Tournament with a record score of 268, 20-under-par. He has also won 6x World Golf Championships, and is the first player to win each of the four World Golf Championship events. He has been the World Number One ranked player in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Born and raised in South Carolina, Johnson started playing golf at a young age. He played collegiate golf at the Coastal Carolina University, and as an amateur won the Monroe Invitational, and the Northeast Amateur in 2007, as well as being part of the winning teams at the 2007 Walker Cup and Palmer Cup.
Johnson turned professional in 2007, and quickly earned his 2008 PGA Tour card. He won his first PGA Tour event in his rookie season, and in 2011 he tied for 2nd at The Open Championship. He had huge success on the PGA Tour, clocking up 24 wins, and in 2015-16 he was named PGA Tour Player of the Year, and again in 2019-20. In 2016 he was named PGA Player of the Year. He won the Vardon Trophy and the Byron Nelson Award in 2016. But his biggest achievement that year was claiming his first major victory when he won the 2016 US Open. He won the Byron Nelson Award and the Vardon Trophy again in 2018, and then in 2019 he came 2nd at the PGA Championship. He repeated the feat in 2020 (tied for 2nd this time round), but he also won the FedEx Cup, and claimed his second Major victory by winning the Masters Tournament. He left PGA Tour golf in 2022 and started playing LIV Golf, becoming their Invitational Series Individual champion.
