K-Pop has been one of the most popular genres in America in recent years, and one of its most familiar faces is Ellie Lee, a Korean-American host and actress from New Jersey whose passion for all things K-Pop has seen her become something of a de facto interviewer of K-Pop’s biggest names. She first gained an audience through her YouTube channel and has subsequently worked her way up to become a host for MTV K (Korea), a pop culture anchor for Big Morning Buzz Live on VH1, and a host on iHeart Radio. She also has hugely popular social media accounts, including one on TikTok (123,000 followers) and one on Instagram (47,000 followers).
Lee was born in New Jersey in 1987 to Korean parents. Always passionate about becoming a TV presenter, she studied Broadcast Journalism at Fordham University in New York and through her hard work, dedication, and excellent knowledge of K-Pop, began to build a strong reputation. She also worked for a time as a presenter for the Anime News Network.
K-Pop (short for Korean pop) is one of the biggest musical explosions of the century and is centred around the inventive music of South Korea. Some of its current leading lights include BTS, BLACKPINK, and TWICE, and Lee knows them all and has interviewed them all at least once for one of her many jobs. Long may she continue to do so!
