Everett Scott Weston is a US veteran and the founder of Operation: Heal Our Heroes, a non-profit organization whose goal is to prevent veteran suicide. Many people in the United States are unaware that approximately 20 military veterans commit suicide every day. There are two major explanations for this tragic situation. The first is because the transition back to civilian life can often be a difficult journey; and sometimes those that are struggling find if difficult to ask for help. One of the organization’s key goals is to increase awareness about these difficulties and to eliminate or reduce the stigma associated with seeking assistance. The second reason for this issue is that government programs and facilities have not proven to be capable of meeting the needs of our veterans once they leave the military. As a result, their second key purpose is to gather cash to give resources and private support services to veterans in order to ease their transitions.
Weston starred in Bravo TV’s reality show “Summer House,” which follows a group of nine friends who share a summer house in the breezy coastal town of Montauk, Long Island, which has become a summer playground for young professionals looking to get away from the city. On the first season, Everett Weston was one of the nine mates featured.
