The hilarious entertainer Fortune Feimster is a stand-up comedian, writer, actress, TV host, and podcaster, known for her confessional comedy and for her one hour Netflix specials Good Fortune, and Sweet & Salty. She has also appeared in The Mindy Project, Office Christmas Party, Life In Pieces, and Chelsea Lately, and played Heather in the L Word reboot The L World: Generation Q.
Born and raised in North Carolina, Feimster was working as a PA for actress Emily Procter in Los Angeles when she started to pursue comedy. She worked in entertainment journalism for a number of years, and in 2005 studied improv and sketch comedy at The Groundings Theatre. Four years later she was selected to join The Groundlings’ Sunday Company. Her stand-up comedy took of as did her acting, and after her 2010 TV debut on the Reality TV talent show, Last Comic Standing, she has gone on to appear as herself or characters in such TV productions as After Lately, 2 Broke Girls, Glee, The Mindy Project, Life in Pieces, Tales of the City, and FUBAR. She has also voice acted in such shows as The Simpsons, and Bless the Harts. Her film debut came in 2013’s The Secret Life of Dorks, and since then she has appeared in a number of movies, including 2018’s Social Animals, 2020’s Chick Fight, and 2022’s Sex Appeal.
