Frederique van der Wal

Frederique van der Wal is a former top model and actress from the Netherlands who is now an entrepreneur. On Instagram she has 15.1k followers, with a growing online influence and fan base. She was born in 1967 and grew up in The Hague. Her brother Michiel van der Wal is a New York art advisor. She swiftly established herself as one of the world’s top models when she went to the U.S. at the age of 18 and her ability was quickly noticed.

She has appeared on the covers of prestigious magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan. She has worked in campaigns for famous brands such as Victoria’s Secret and Revlon.
Van der Wal has worked in theatre as well as modelling. In 2003 she was in a production of ‘The Vagina Monologues’. She has worked in films such as Wild Wild West, Celebrity, Two Girls and a Guy, 54 and Suddenly Susan. She has worked in TV both on screen and producing. Programmes include ‘Ultimate Holiday Towns USA’, ‘The Mole’, and she was the host and producer of ‘Discovery TLC’s Cover Shot’.

She developed a programme called the ‘Invisible Journey’ and has lectured at Harvard University.
In 2005 her homeland Holland named a lily after her ‘Frederique’s Choice Lily’. Following this she created her own lifestyle brand called Frederique’s Choice in the flower industry and she is chief creative officer. She has also licenced brands to use her name such as a fragrance and a swimsuit line. Van der Wal has a daughter with her partner Nicholas Klein.
