Gilles Marini
French-American actor Gilles Marini is best known for portraying Dante in Sex and the City: The Movie and for his numerous TV and film roles. His television credits include Devious Maids, Switched at Birth and Brothers & Sisters, and he has also appeared as a host on Netflix series Ultimate Beastmaster. A naturally gifted dancer, Marini also finished in second place in the 8th season of Dancing with the Stars.
Born to an Italian father and Greek mother in Grasse, Alpes-Maritimes in France, Marini joined the French army after leaving school and was stationed in Paris. Whilst serving as a fireman in the city he met photographer Fred Goudon who introduced Marini to the world of modelling. He landed his first job in a Bud Light beer commercial before making his acting debut in horror flick Screech of the Decapitated.
Marini rose to international prominence after playing Dante in box office smash Sex and the City; The Movie. He has since appeared in several films including
The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down and One and the Other (L’Une et L’Autre). Marini has established himself as an in-demand actor on American television shows, appearing in the likes of Nip/Tuck, ABC’s family drama Brothers & Sisters, 2 Broke Girls, Criminal Minds, Passions and The Bold and the Beautiful.
The actor delighted fans with his dancing skills on the hugely popular Dancing with the Stars, and the multi-talented star narrowly missed out on becoming champion of the series.
