English actor Greg Ellis is best known for playing Lieutenant Commander Theodore Groves in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean film series. He also starred as Michael Amador in American action drama series 24, Chief Engineer Olsen – the original chief engineer of the Starship Enterprise – in KK Abrams Star Trek, and is famous for his prolific voice-over work in more than 100 video games. In a glittering career spanning over forty years, Ellis has also appeared with Demi Moore, Donald Sutherland and Brian Cox in Forsaken, co-starred with Angelina Jolie and Sir Anthony Hopkins in Beowulf and acted alongside Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic.
Ellis has appeared in numerous hit television shows and was nominated for an Emmy award as part of the Season 3 ensemble cast of 24. His other notable TV credits include Dexter, X-Files, Hawaii Five-O, NCIS and Knight Rider. He has also performed in countless theatre roles in the original casts of West End musicals including Starlight Express, Out of the Blue, Miss Saigon and Bugsy Malone.
A talented singer, his recording career began when he was 15 when he scored a number 1 hit single in Italy before landing a record deal with Germany’s BMG/Coconut Records. Ellis can be heard on multiple musical theatre cast recordings and was invited to sing at two Royal Command Performances by Queen Elizabeth II. Multi-talented Ellis is also an accomplished director, producer, and screenwriter and his writing and directing credits include Sky TV’s Marked starring Stephen Fry and Kiefer Sutherland.
