The original lead singer and a founding member of the children’s band the Wiggles, Gregory Page, AM is a singer, musician, and actor from Australia. He performed with the band from 1991 to 2006 and then again in 2012. Page has been hailed by bandmate Anthony Field as “the consummate straight man,” with a “big pleasant smile and easy stage presence” that draws in both kids and adults. Page donned a yellow shirt when performing with the Wiggles and, like his bandmates, had a gimmick that involved magic tricks.
Taking Care of Country, Page’s 2005 solo album, showcases his passion for Elvis Presley’s songs. It was recorded with Elvis’ back-up band, the TCB Band. Page performed with the TCB Band in Las Vegas in the spring of 2003. Let It Be Me, his second album with the TCB Band, was released in 2012. Page joined the cast of the children’s educational television show Butterscotch’s Playground shortly after leaving the Wiggles and collaborated with the show’s creators on its development.
Since 2016, Page has performed with the Wiggles on occasion for reunion gigs and charity events. Page suffered a cardiac arrest in January 2020, while performing at a Wiggles reunion event to raise money for wildfire relief efforts. He has since become a vocal advocate for heart health and CPR education, forming the nonprofit “Heart of the Nation” with the purpose of promoting public awareness of defibrillator placements across Australia and encouraging companies to retain a defibrillator on-site. Page and the original Wiggles performed in The Soul Movers music video “Circles Baby” in July 2020.
