Covering everything from politics, gambling and cooking, Hardeep Singh Kohli is a Sikh-British radio and television presenter with a variety of presented topics under his belt. Kohli broke on to the entertainment scene in 2004 when he wrote, directed and starred in Channel 4’s “Meet the Magoons.” Two years later, he appeared in BBC One’s “Celebrity MasterChef” where he reached the finale and won second place. Kohli has been an occasional presenter on the television program “Newsnight Review” and the BBC Radio 4 shows “Saturday Live” and “Loose Ends.” He also took on the role of political panelist for the BBC’s “Question Time.” In 2007, he appeared in a Channel 4 three-part series documenting all forms of gambling.
In 2008, he filmed “The Beginner’s Guide to L. Ron Hubbard,” a documentary on Scientology and presented “In Search of the Tartan Turban,” an exploration on belonging to an ethnic minority while also identifying as a Briton and a Scot. In 2009, Kohli volunteered to be homeless on the streets of London for the BBC series “Famous, Rich and Homeless.” In August 2018, Kohli became a celebrity housemate on the UK version of “Celebrity Big Brother.” Kohli is not afraid to talk about hard topics or dive into any experience to connect with audiences.
Although Kohli has a wide range of presented on topics, cooking has been a common theme for him. He premiered his own one-man cooking comedy show at the 2009 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He also started “Chat Masala” where he conducted interviews with famous personalities while cooking them curry. He has also been a food writer for the Daily Record and currently writes about food for The New European. Kohli’s experience reporting and commentating have made him a reliable presenter with a comedic flare as spicy as the curry he cooks for his show’s guests.
