Harold Ramírez

The amazing sportsman Harold “Pitbull” Ramírez is a professional baseball outfielder, who plays for the Chicago Cubs in the MLB. He has also pitched for the Miami Marlins, and the Cleveland Indians, as well as for his native Columbia.

Born and raised in Cartagena, Columbia, Ramírez grew up with a natural talent for baseball. He was just 16-years-old when he signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent in 2011. He made his professional debut the following year with the Rookie-level side the Gulf Coast Pirates. He remained in the minors, batting for Jamestown Jammers, West Virginia Power, Bradenton Marauders, and Altoona Curve, as well as in the off season for the Mexican side Venados de Mazatlán. In 2016 he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays, and optioned to New Hampshire Fisher Cats. In November 2018 he then signed a minor league deal with the Miami Marlins, beginning his time with the New Orleans Baby Cakes, before being called up to the major league roster in May 2019. In February 2021 he was designated for assignment, and after the 2020 season he played for Columbia in the 2021 Caribbean Series. He was then claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Indians, remaining with the side until he was traded to the Chicago Cubs in November 2021.
