British video creator Immy Lucas is the “accidental influencer” behind the massively popular Sustainably Vegan YouTube channel and is also the creator of the intersectional Low Impact Movement, which advocates for people to live a more sustainable lifestyle. Lucas does this herself by eating vegan, only buying second-hand things where possible and not travelling for leisure. Her YouTube channel has amassed an incredible 275,000 subscribers and she has a further 125,000 Instagram followers. Her YouTube content has been viewed more than 29 million times. She is currently living in the United States and is based in Colorado.
Lucas hails from London. Her studies at the University of Sussex led to her spending a year studying at the University of Michigan, which is where she met her partner. She had a successful career back in London, working for charities and production agencies, but as she began documenting her journey towards living a more sustainable lifestyle, her YouTube channel became increasingly popular and was soon her full-time job.
Alongside Sustainably Vegan, Lucas also set up the Low Impact Movement, helping to inspire others to live a more sustainable lifestyle. She also uses her platform to help highlight the work of BIPOC climate-change activists whose work is structurally ignored by traditional outlets.
