Iskra Lawrence is an inspirational model, body confidence influencer and mental health activist with more than 5 million followers on social media. A figurehead within the body acceptance and self-love community, the stunning model first garnered attention on social media after she posted a video of herself eating a packet of crisps in her underwear online. Dropped from a modelling agency as a fifteen years old for being “too big”, she has since made it her personal mission to change how women are perceived in the media, and has also launched EveryBODY with Iskra, a digital platform dedicated to wellness, health, workout, meditation and more.
Born in Wolverhampton, England, Lawrence began modeling when she was 13 but often felt she wasn’t good enough as she began to receive negative feedback from modeling recruiters. After many ups and downs during her career she landed a gig with Aerie – a brand of intimate wear from American Eagle Outfitters – where her photographed image was completely unretouched for an international campaign. Since then she has continued to challenge society’s unrealistic standards of beauty, and has earned numerous accolades for her work including being named one of BBC’s World’s 100 Women and one of the Forbes 30 Under 30 for Europe. She was announced as a L’Oréal Princes Trust Ambassador in 2018, and is a National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) brand ambassador.
