James C. Burns is an actor best known for his role as Sergeant Frank Woods in the Call of Duty military first-person shooter franchise. His first on-screen appearance came in 1986, when he was cast in a sketch involving General Dynamics foran episode of the hit sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. Burns’ first big recurring role came in 2006, when he was cast as Agent Grabinsky in the spin-off web series Prison Break: Proof of Innocence for 14 episodes.

In 2005, he appeared in the CBS drama series Criminal Minds, in the season one episode “What Fresh Hell?” in which he played Commander Lewis. In the season seven episode “Painless,” Burns played a SWAT Commander.
2017 saw Burns star as Titus Finch in the feature thriller Dangerous Words from the Fearless, alongside Fiona Dourif and Seth Duer. Written and directed by David DeLaurier and Sam Maxwell, the story follows two arsonists who are caught in a mysteriously sadistic series of events and are joined by an unexpected passenger as they set off on the open road.
