James Perry

James Perry was born in Sacramento, California, to Dan and Michelle Perry. His early academic pursuits led him to study Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University (BYU). During his time at BYU, Perry joined the sketch comedy group Divine Comedy. This involvement was a formative experience, as many members of Divine Comedy, including Perry, later went on to form the core cast and writing team for the popular BYUtv sketch comedy series, Studio C.

Perry’s career gained significant traction with Studio C, where he contributed as an actor, writer, and at one point, a director. The show, which ran from 2012 to 2024, prominently featured his comedic talents across 129 episodes. He became particularly known for characters such as the “Lobster Bisque” guy. Following his tenure with Studio C, Perry was a co-founder of JK! Studios, a comedy-focused media company launched post-2018, aiming to continue producing comedic content.

Beyond his comedic acting, James Perry has expanded his work into writing for other television series, including an episode of “Bring the Funny” in 2019, and editing for projects like “Loving Lyfe” and “Freelancers” in 2019. He has also taken on various acting roles in films and TV series such as “Villains Inc” (2023) and “Go West” (2023). Currently, Perry also engages in motivational speaking, offering insights on achieving self-reliance through effective communication and authenticity.
