Comedian, writer, actor and podcast host Jamie Loftus is one of the best loved entertainers currently working in Los Angeles.
Loftus’s career started out in journalism with a job at The Boston Globe.
She quickly moved into writing, performing and directing her own live shows, including titles such as Basketball City, Bad Art and Death Wish. She has now become well known for her one-woman performances, with her best known works including I Lost My Virginity on August 15, 2010 and Boss, Whom Is a Girl. Both of the shows toured internationally and received rave reviews in both American and British publications. Her unique stand up comedy style which features elements of absurdism as well as highly personal and intimate details about her life has won her fans all over the world, and she has also become known for her performance art style pieces. Outside of her live shows, Loftus has also created several web series including Irrational Fears, as well as podcast series such as My Year in Mensa and Lolita Podcast. She is also a host on The Bechdel Cast where she discusses women in film with her co-host Caitlin Durante.
Most recently, Loftus has continued to write her own shows as well as being chosen to join the writing team on Robot Chicken for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award. She is a regular on media outlets such as Paste, Super Deluxe and Adult Swim, and her career in comedy continues to flourish.
