Jamie Oliver is a highly influential British chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author, recognized globally for his accessible approach to cooking and his sustained efforts to promote healthier eating, particularly among school children. After being discovered by the BBC in 1997 during an unscripted appearance in a documentary while working as a sous-chef at The River Cafe in Fulham, Jamie Oliver gained widespread public recognition with the debut of his BBC Two series, ‘The Naked Chef,’ in 1999. The accompanying cookbook, also titled ‘The Naked Chef,’ became an immediate bestseller. Olivers early success led to an invitation to prepare lunch for Prime Minister Tony Blair at 10 Downing Street the same year.
His television presence continued with popular series like ‘Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals,’ which debuted on Channel 4 in 2012. Despite the administration of his Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group in 2019, which saw the closure of several UK restaurants, Oliver has maintained his significant presence in the culinary world. Demonstrating his ongoing commitment to the restaurant industry, Oliver opened Jamie Oliver Catherine Street in London in 2023. Continuing his international expansion, he launched Jamie’s Italian Belgrade in Serbia in 2024, further solidifying his global culinary footprint and brand appeal.
