French actor, Jean Reno, has been taking Hollywood by storm since he began acting in the 1970s. As well as starring in French films, Reno has appeared in some English speaking classics such as The Davinci Code and the original Godzilla film. Reno is a versatile actor who has appeared in everything from thrillers to comedies over the span of his career.
Reno first appeared on screens in the French show, One Mystery a Day, in a small role, but he quickly climbed the ladder to bigger and better roles. He began starring in a number of French thrillers such as Leon: The Professional and Le Grand Bleu. He also did some voiceover work, and he was cast as Mufasa in the French version of The Lion King. In the nineties, he also worked alongside big stars such as Robert de Niro and Sean Bean in another action thriller, Ronin. He also appeared in the classic thriller, Mission: Impossible.
Reno established that he was great in thriller movies, but he also branched out into comedy in the early 2000s, taking on the starring role in Wasabi as a French detective. He also starred in the hit remake of The Pink Panther alongside Steve Martin, combining his love of action with a dose of comedy. Since then, his roles have been varied, but he will be best remembered for leading the way in action thrillers for most of his career.
