Jennifer Lahmers is an Emmy-nominated journalist and television personality who is currently a co-host for Extra TV in Los Angeles after building a huge reputation as the host of Good Day Wake Up on Fox 5 New York WNYW. She also co-hosts the popular Ex Appeal podcast with French actor Julien Marlon Samani. She is popular on social media with an 80,000-strong audience across her various accounts.
Lahmers was born in Ohio in February 1984. Despite being shy as a child, she also knew very early on that she wanted to work in TV journalism and so set out to do just that, graduating in 2002 from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. Her first full-time position reporting for WBBJ-TV in Jacksonville, Tennessee. The job was something of a baptism of fire as she not only had to host her reports but also write, film, and edit them. On top of that, she also became their weekend news anchor. She then moved to Fox TV in Connecticut, spending five years there as a reporter and once again becoming the weekend news anchor. In 2012, she joined the new Back9Network, a golf cable channel run by her then-husband. Two years later, she moved to New York and rejoined Fox.
During the five years that she was with Fox 5 New York, Lahmers became one of the channel’s most recognisable and popular faces, fronting various shows and helping New Yorkers to start their day the right way. Now based in Los Angeles, she is one of the star attractions of a whole new kind of news channel.
