Jennifer Williams was one of the original stars of Basketball Wives, the VH1 reality show that has now been running for eight seasons. Williams, wife of former NBA star Eric Williams, has played a crucial part in all but one season, winning a huge fanbase that includes nearly one million Twitter followers. An entrepreneur, she is the owner of Classy Girl Wardrobe, a successful online women’s clothing line. In autumn 2020, it was announced that she was one of the executive producers of Notorious Queens, a major new AMC show that will follow the lives of four women whose public image has become “notorious” due to their romantic relationships and portrayal in the media.
Basketball Wives first aired on VH1 back in 2010. Set in Miami, Florida, it follows the lives of the spouses of famous basketball players. It went on a hiatus after five seasons, the last of which Williams was absent for, but was brought back due to public demand in 2017 with Williams back as one of the stars.
The success of Basketball Wives has allowed Williams to become one of the show’s most successful breakout stars. She branched out into acting when she played the Editor-at-Large in Supermodel, a 2015 film with an all-star cast including the likes of Tatyana Ali and Fat Joe. She doubled up her reality show hit-rate in 2016 when she became one of the stars of The Next :15, a show that followed the lives of six established reality stars and looked at how the fame had changed their lives.
